Curriculum Highlights
BIBLE: We spent some time reading a book inspired by Psalm 121 - our memory work for the month of February.
We also finished our unit on the parables of Jesus.
MATH: We have been working on multi-digit multiplication using a variety of strategies. We continue to see the importance of memorizing our basic multiplication facts.
READING: We are practicing our informational reading skills. We are researching our topic for our writing, reading informational texts to identify details, central message and connecting the new information we learn to our previous knowledge.
SURVIVAL SKILLS: We worked in small groups to build a wilderness mattress to help keep our bodies away from the cold ground when camping. Our focus was on character building - How do we work together well even when we are frustrated or discouraged? What does it look like when everyone is doing their part?
WRITING: We have started to research our topic for our Informational Picture book that we will be writing. Thank you for sending links and books along with your child to aide in that work - if you haven't already sent them please send them along with your child on Monday.
