 UPCOMING EVENTS AND REMINDERS

* Learning Opportunities for Parents

The ODC Network is launching a meaningful 4-part speaker series in 2026 featuring nationally-renowned experts who will explore how technology is reshaping our lives and offer practical ways to restore balance for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Through the generosity of local donors, tickets for the talks in Holland are free (one per email address) and can be reserved HERE.

Spring program is here! Thursday, March 12 @ 6:30pm at Christ Memorial church. Please arrive between 6:15-6:30pm and help your child find their teacher in the lobby area. This will be a packed house so please be conscious when picking seats to move all the way to the center of the pew. Students will stay with their teacher in the lobby area and walk in together once all family and friends are seated. It will be a wonderful night of worship together!

Lost & Found: The lost and found album is updated regularly. Please keep checking it out and having your child claim the things that belong to you!

Going Home with a Friend who Rides a Bus? Please Read!

Requests from a non-bus riding student to ride a bus route (or a bus riding student to ride a different route) must be written from that parent and the parent of the student whose house they are going to. Please write these emails directed to the bus driver and/or Director of Transportation by using transportation@hollandchristian.org. This informs the bus drivers of the change. Bus drivers will not transport a student without permission from both sets of parents. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!

TTQ- Boys running club

Thank you to the coaches who have come forward to help us run! Our section is full and will start the week of March 16. If we have more coaches who’d like to volunteer we can consider opening another section. Thank you again!

It's time to sign up for the Girls Running Club!

We have 2 wonderful coaches excited to lead the Girls Running Club this Spring.

Please see the Flyer linked here for the details on the club and how to sign up your daughter  Pine Ridge Girls Run Club 2026.

If you are interested and willing to help with the running club, there's still room for more coaches. Please let the office know!

MIDDLE SCHOOL VISIT AND PLAY

We enjoyed the play together at the middle school and met some new friends!

Curriculum Highlights
BIBLE: We finished up our unit with reviewing the events we talked about and what those events show us about our God. We took our unit test today.

MATH: We have started long division. This week we worked with single digit divisors and multi digit dividends (your child should be able to tell you what those Math vocabulary words mean). Next week we will look at double digit divisors which will be new for students.

READING: To help us grow our skills as nonfiction readers we took a closer look at different text structures that we might find in our reading. This week our focus was on cause and effect and compare and contrast. We read a variety of texts using graphic organizers to help us keep track of our learning.

SCIENCE: We started a new unit of study on Ecology. We learned what an ecosystem is and the abiotic and biotic factors within that ecosystem. We started to create a glossary of scientific words that would be important for us to know.

We also spent time in our nature journals - mapping the area around us and labeling abiotic and biotic factors.

We talked about the different parts that make up an ecosystem. We continue to be amazed at how God took such care in planning and creating plants and animals to be dependent on each other.

And then took time to hike and enjoy this beautiful weather!

SOCIAL STUDIES: We opened up some textbooks, read and watch some digital resources to discover the geography, resources, industries, and important people of the New England colonies.

WRITING: We worked hard this week on drafting our subtopics for our informational picture book.
