Curriculum Highlights
BIBLE: We have started our study on The Sermon on the Mount and looking at The Beatitudes.
MATH: Rounding decimals numbers to the tenths and hundredths place helped us estimate the answers to both addition and subtraction problems.
READING: We continue to work on learning more about the characters in our books. We paid attention to their struggles and challenges.
SCIENCE: Using the data that we collected we created a graph to help us see patterns in our data and ask questions.
SOCIAL STUDIES: This week we started our first Social Studies unit looking at people groups in America hundreds of years ago. We explored the summer and winter villages at ODC and learned more about the Indigenous People that lived here in Michigan.
WRITING: We finished our personal narratives and have now started to dig into our research for our Scientific essay. This is hard work ... reading research articles, learning lots of new vocabulary, and citing our sources.
ARCHERY: This week we took a break from our regularly scheduled outdoor activities and learned how to use a bow! We talked about safety protocols, how to take care of the equipment AND then spent time practicing.
